| 520 Ringkasan/Abstrak/Intisari | Seiring dengan popularitas topik terkait lingkungan, sosial dan tata kelola (ESG), konsep ekonomi sirkular saat ini telah memperoleh daya tarik yang luar biasa bagi para akademisi, pembuat kebijakan, dan perusahaan di berbagai industri. Pada tataran perusahaan, konsep ini diimplementasikan melalui konsep yang disebut sebagai model bisnis sirkular. Berbagai inisiatif telah dilakukan oleh beberapa perusahaan dengan tujuan untuk menerapkan konsep tersebut. Termasuk perusahaan di industri energi, yang berfokus pada transisi energi dari sumber energi konvensional ke sumber energi terbarukan. Namun, terlepas dari pentingnya implementasi dari model bisnis sirkular ini dan juga kondisi yang menunjukkan bahwa telah diimplementasikannya model bisnis tersebut oleh beberapa perusahaan, dalam hal penelitian, masih terdapat banyak hal-hal yang belum dapat memberikan pemahaman, penjelasan serta prediksi atas fenomena yang ada dari perspektif bisnis model sirkular. Terutama penelitian yang dilakukan secara empiris, yang dapat secara holistik mengintegrasikan topik model bisnis sirkular ini, dengan topik inovasi teknologi dan ambidexterity. Khususnya di industri energi, yang merupakan technology-intensive dan high-risk industry. Dengan menggunakan metodologi kuantitatif melalui penyebaran questionnaires kepada 71 pemimpin perusahaan energi Indonesia sebagai responden, temuan dari penelitian ini telah berhasil mengisi research gap dari penelitian yang ada. Temuan dari penilitian ini menujukan bahwa (1) terdapat dampak positif yang signifikan dari level model bisnis sirkular perusahaan dan level adopsi inovasi teknologi perusahaan terhadap kinerja perusahaan, (2) inovasi pemimpin merupakan kunci, dikarenakan oleh dampak positif signifikan yang dimilikinya terhadap level model bisnis sirkular perusahaan, level adopsi inovasi teknologi perusahaan serta secara langsung terhadap kinerja perusahaan, dan (3) ketersediaan teknologi memiliki dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan, tetapi hanya melalui level adopsi inovasi teknologi perusahaan. Sedangkan untuk faktor moderasi (ambidexterity), pada saat ini belum dapat terlihat hasil positif yang signifikan. Dengan demikian, penelitian longitudinal untuk aspek ini disarankan untuk dilakukan lebih lanjut. Bagi para akademisi, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi empiris, metodologis, serta kontekstual, terhadap literatur manajemen strategi yang ada. Khususnya literatur terkait dengan model bisnis sirkular dan inovasi teknologi. Bagi para praktisi, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi insights yang berharga untuk improvement dan/ atau inovasi dalam hal model bisnis, teknologi, dan strategi. Selain itu, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mendukung transisi energi di Indonesia, dimana bisnis energi konvensional maupun energi terbarukan diharapkan dapat berjalan beriringan untuk mencapai hal tersebut.
......Along with the popularity of the environment, social and governance (ESG) concerns, the circular economy concept nowadays has gained tremendous attraction for the academicians, policy makers, and firms in various industries. On a firm level, this concept is implemented through a concept called as circular business model. Various initiatives have been put in place by firms aiming to implement this concept. This includes firms in the energy industry, which is following the energy transition from the conventional to the renewable energy sources. Nevertheless, despite of the importance and the omnipresent of the practice, there is still lack of empirical research within the circular business model topic. Especially, empirical research that attempts to combine this topic with technological innovation and ambidexterity within the energy industry, which is considered technology-intensive and high risk industry. Using a quantitative methodology with 71 leaders of the Indonesian energy firms as respondents, this research has succeeded to fill in the existing research gaps through its findings, which shows that (1) there is a significant positive impact of both firm?s level of circular business model and firm?s level of technology innovation adoption to firm?s performance, (2) leaders innovativeness is key as it has a significant positive impact to firm?s level of circular business model, firm?s level of technology innovation adoption as well as directly to firm?s performance, and (3) whilst perceived availability of technology has a significant positive impact to firms? performance, but only through firm?s level of technology innovation adoption. Whereas for the moderating impact of ambidexterity, no significant positive result is seen and longitudinal research is suggested for further study. For academicians, this research is expected to provide empirical, methodological, and contextual contribution to the existing strategic management literatures, especially within the circular business model and technology innovation topic. For practitioners, this may serve as valuable insights for improvements and/or innovations in terms of business model, technology adoption, and strategy. Also, this research is expected to be able to support the energy transition in Indonesia, where both the conventional and the renewable energy businesses are expected to go hand-in-hand together on this. |
