Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perjuangan Palestina. baik yang dilakukan oleh PLO (Nasionalis), Hamas dan Jihad Islam (Islamis) serta masyarakat Palestina dalam perjuangannya mencari negara dan bentuk negara. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh pencerahan bagamana bentuk dan tahapan-tahapan perjuangan serta mengapa sampai tahun 2006 ini belum berhasil membentuk negara, serta jauh mana faktor-faktor intern dan ekstern yang mempengaruhinya.Adapun metode yang dipergunakan adalah Case Study dengan tehnik pengumpulan data dokumen, diawali dengan menghimpun, menelaah, mengamati dan menganalisa data yang terkumpul secara sistematis, intensif dan mendalam terhadap data-data sekunder yang menjadi konsentrasi dan titik sentral kajian.Dari hasil pengumpulan data diperoleh temuan bahwa ideologi negara sebagai bentuk negara, baik itu Islam maupun Nasionalis, mana yang akan dipilih pada masa depan bangsa Palestina juga masih dalam tahapan perjuangan masing-masing pihak, baik kubu Hamas maupun kubu Fatah. Walau sekarang dapat dilihat bahwa Islamlah yang menjadi pilihan rakyat. Namun bila dilihat fragmen-fragmen di kancah Palestina masih di mungkinkan akan berubah. The background of this research the struggle of Palestine, either conducted by PLO (Nationalist), Hamas and Jihad Islam (Islamic) and Palestine people in the struggle to end the state and type of state. Although at present we can see that Islamism is the choice of the people. But when we see the fragments in Palestine it may be changed.
