This paper discusses the development of democracy in the Asian regional and in Indonesia and its relation to the proposal made by the foreign minister Hassan Wirajuda on the establishment of the Bali Democracy forum (BDF) the paper studies the salience of the proposal in a relationship with of importance of the Indonesia domestic development namely the process of political development and see the possibility of the proposal to encourage countries in the Asia region to embrace more on the agenda for democracy.
