Skripsi ini membahas tentang politik pengembangan teknologi Cina khususnya pada perusahaan komputer Lenovo sebagai perusahaan komputer terbesar di negara tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan menganalisa bagaimana negara mengembangkan teknologi dengan serangkaian kebijakan industrial pada perusahaan komputer Lenovo. Teori ekonomi politik khususnya Developmental State digunakan untuk menganalisa studi kasus pada skripsi ini. Hasil penelitian tersebut menemukan bahwa negara berperan penting dalam pengembangan teknologi melalui pemanfaatan mekanisme pasar. Kebijakan teknologi negara kemudian dirumuskan agar mampu menciptakan situasi yang kondusif bagi pengembangan teknologi. Hal tersebut menjadi sangat penting karena teknologi kini menjadi faktor pendukung bagi pembangunan ekonomi Cina.
This undergraduate thesis discusses the politics of technology development in China with a case study computer company Lenovo as the largest computer company in the country. This study uses qualitative method and analyzes how the state develops the technology with a series of industrial policies on computer company Lenovo. The theory of political economy, especially Developmental State is used to analyze a case study in this thesis. The results finds that the state plays an important role in the development of technology through the use of market mechanisms. The state technology policies are formulated to create a situation that is conducive to the development of technology. This becomes very important because the technology is now a supporting factor for China's economic development.
