Tesis ini membahas mediasi yang digunakan oleh Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) dalam memediasi konflik internal yang terjadi di Aceh. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian mengatakan bahwa mediasi yang efektif bukan hanya disebabkan multitrack diplomasi yang digunakan oleh mediator. Tapi juga teknik mediasi yang efektif yang bisa melihat kebutuhan dari pihak-pihak yang bertikai dan bisa menghentikan konflik kekerasan dan mewujudkan perdamaian.

The focus of the study is the significance of the Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) in mediation the internal conflict in Aceh. The study is conducted on the method of descriptive studies. The main purpose of the study is to understand the reason behind the succes of the mediation by CMI.the study is not only due the multitrack diplomacy but also due to the efective mediation which oriented to the disputants needs and also it can transform the violence conflict into long peace.
