Tale keberangkatan haji merupakan tradisi lisan masyarakat Kabupaten Kerinci yang dipertunjukkan menjelang keberangkatan haji dan perwujudan kebersamaan warga masyarakat. Tale menjadi identitas Kerinci di Provinsi Jambi, kehadiran dan perkembangan tradisi ini ikut dipengaruhi oleh masuknya Islam di Kerinci. Tale berfungsi hiburan dan juga berfungsi ritual, keberadaan tradisi ini tidak bisa dilepaskan dengan konteks sosial masyarakatnya. Petale yang terdiri dari laki-laki dan perempuan menampilkan tale mereka dengan menyenandungkan pesan untuk para jamaah haji agar menlajankan rukun-rukun haji. selain itu tale juga berisikan pujian kepada Illahirabbi dan kota suci Mekah Pewarisan tale keberangkatan haji dilakukan secara formal dan nonformal(alamiah). Secara formal ditunjukkan oleh Pemerintah Kabupaten Kerinci dalam bentuk memasukkan tale sebagai salah muatan lokal, sementara secara alamiah petale senior berusaha mewarisi tradisi ini dengan memberi peluang kepada petale muda untuk ikut bertale.

Tale for the departure of pilgrimage denotes an oral tradition of the community of Kerinci Regency that is performed by the departure of pilgrimage and becomes a realization of togetherness for the community. Tale is an identity of Kerinci society in Jambi Province. The presence and development of this tradition is also influenced by the coming of Islam religion in Kerinci. Tale functions not only as an entertainment but also as a ritual. The existence of this tradition can?t be dispensed with the social context of its community. The persons who perform tale that consists of men and women perform their tale by singing the messages for the pilgrimage participants in order to do the principles of pilgrimage. Besides, it contains the praise to the God and Prophet and the Holy Town of Mecca. The inheritance of tale for the departure of pilgrimage is conducted both formally and non formally (naturally). Formally, it is performed by the Government of Kerinci Regency in the form of entering tale as one of the local loads, whereas naturally, the old persons who perform tale strive to inherit this tradition by giving a chance to the young generations who perform tale to join in performing tale.
