 Abstract

Performansi HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Acces) dalam hal besarnya throughput yang diterima oleh terminal pelanggan dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, diantaranya adalah kemampuan terminal pelanggan, kondisi propagasi radio dan parameter turbo code. Tujuan dalam skripsi ini adalah untuk menganalisa performansi HSDPA pada model propagasi indoor office building, menganalisa pengaruh parameter turbo code terhadap performansi HSDPA, dan mengembangkan program HSDPA yang diperoleh dari West Virginia University.
Hasil simulasi mengindikasikan bahwa throughput HSDPA berbanding lurus dengan jumlah bit informasi dalam blok transport dan jumlah kode HSDSCH yang dialokasikan, serta berbanding terbalik dengan nilai inter-TTI interval. Selain itu, semakin banyak jumlah iterasi turbo code maka performansi throughput HSDPA semakin baik, hal ini disebabkan karena semakin banyak jumlah iterasi turbo code maka nilai BER semakin kecil dan pengiriman transmisi HARQ dapat lebih sedikit, sehingga waktu pengiriman menjadi lebih cepat. Akan tetapi semakin banyak jumlah iterasi turbo code dapat menyebabkan waktu tunda semakin lama.

There are many factors that affect the performances of HSDPA, such as user equipment capabilities, radio propagation condition, and turbo code parameters. The purpose of this paper is to analyze HSDPA performance at office building propagation, and to develop HSDPA program from West Virginia University. This paper has studied turbo code effect to HSDPA performance at office building propagation.
Simulation was based on 3GPP fixed reference channel (FRC) and ITU indoor model propagation. The results indicated that HSDPA throughput performance is proportional to the number of information bits in a transport block, and the number of codes for the HS-DSCH. Besides that, HSDPA performance improved as the number of decoder iteration increased. However turbo codes possesed an inherent tradeoff between performance and latency.
