Theories in architecture are hard to be regarded scientific, because they are not based on clear and objective phenomena. Most of them are merely assumptions, hypotheses or concepts. Egenter argues that anthropology architecture which is based on real phenomenon, i.e. human in his relationship with culture, may hold a complete and universal architectural theory. This study seeks to analize a case of a traditional house of the Dani people in Irian Jaya based on Egenter's approach. Findings has shown that social structure, living activities, religion and survivalship determine spatial patterns and form of the settlement.
