Optimasi alokasi ruang produk pada rak display gerai ritel grocery menggunakan implementasi model shelf space allocation problem dan algoritma genetika serta analisis kebijakan in - store shelf replenishment = Optimization of product space allocation by using implementation of shelf space allocation model (ssap) and genetic algorithm method along with analysis on the in-store shelf replenishment policy

 Abstract

Space allocation is a critical problem for retail management, considering the increasing variation of products in contrast with the limited resources of shelf space. Moreover, previous researches have concluded that the number of space (facing) allocated could affect the sales of a product.
This research discusses optimization of product shelf space allocation in grocery retail store by implementing Shelf Space Allocation Problem (SSAP) model developed by Bai (2005) with genetic algorithm as solving method.
Result has shown that this method produces 7,30% higher product category profit of tea drink than what it has today. Analysis on the in-store shelf replenishment is done by using the common reorder point model.
