Menerjemahkan novel Rebecca of Sw111ybrook Farm ke bahasa Indonesia sangat menarik sekaligus menantang. Tujuan utama dari Tugas Akhir ini adalah mengalihkan makna yang terkandungi dalam novel itu ke bahasa Indonesia dengan tetap memertahankan segmen pembacanya, yaitu anak-anak yang berusia scmbilan dan lima belas tahun. Makna yang terbalut oleh bahasa dan budaya yang khas bahasa sumber, dihadirkan dalam bahasa Indonesia melalui terjemahan ya ng wajar, jelas, tepal, dan berterirna. Perbedaan budaya, kaidah bahasa, serta sudut pandang dipertali kan melalui ancangan, metode, dan prosedur penerjemahan pra- dan pascapenerjemahan, keutuhan makna diharapkan tetap terjaga, selain keruntutan dan kepaduan yang lama perlu menjadi perhatian. Penelusuran pustaka, wawancara, pengamatan, dan survei menJadi sumber data yang sangat penting. Su mber data ditapis, kemudian data y ng diperoleh diolah untuk mempertajam analisis, memperkaya bahasa dan ma kna terjemahan, dan memperkuat landasan pikir. Da ri basil analisis dan aplikasi metade dan rcrsedm penerjemahan, apat diketahui bahwa m sih ada ruang bagi munculniYa teori baru. Satu temuan yang perlu diuji, diperdalam, dan dikembangkan adalah teori penerjemahan pronomina dengan pronomina kultural. Prioritas yang perlu diperihatikan oleh mereka yang berkecimpung dalam dunia terjemahan, khususnya para dosen, adalah penerjemahan selalu memiliki langkah neeed analysis dan audience design menjadi mutlak ditemputi; penerjemahan tidak dapat lepas konteks sehingga pemahaman kotiteks adalah langkah awal sebelum mulai.
Translating McFadden's Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm into Indonesian is both interesling and challenging. The main purpose of this Final Task is to transfer the message contained in the novel into Indonesian by preserving the target reader segmentation, namely for children of 8 to 15 years old. The message covered by source language and culture is presented in Indonesian through a natural, clear, accurate, and accepted translation. The difference in cultures, grammatical aspects, point of view is connecLed through the accurate approaches, translation methods and procedures in order to preserve the wholeness of the message. Through pre and post-translation proeess, the wholeness of the massage is expected to be preserved. In atldition, coherence and cohesion are also becoming a worthy of consideration. Literature research, interview, obseration, and survey are remarkably important data sources. The data sources are strained, then the data obtained are processed to sharpen t he analysis, to enrich the language and message of the translation, and to strength the thought foundation. Erom the analysis and t ans ation met hods and procedures applicatio , the window of opportunity to emerge some new theories are still widely open. A finding which needs to 15e examined, deepen, a nd develop is translating pronouns by cultural pronouns. The priority needed to be considered by those who engage in translation field, especially the lecturers, is that translating always has purpose, so hat needs analysis and audience desigrL become unavoida ble steps; translating cannot be out of context, so that understanding context is a prerequisite; theoretical foundation which is considered to be unnecess by some people needs to be studied.
