 Abstrak
[ABSTRAK
Tesis ini menggambarkan seberapa besar pengaruh supervise pengawas sekolah
dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kompetensi professional akademik
guru. Tesis ini menggunakan metode analisis regresi ganda dengan pendekatan
kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah
mempunyai pengaruh yang lebih besar daripada supervise pengawas sekolah
terhadap kompetensi professional guru.Faktor pengaruh yang diberikan mencapai
43 persen selebihnya berupa factor lain yang tidak dijelaskan dalam penelitian ini.
Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar pengawas pada saat melakukan supervise
lebih baik menekankan pemberian keterampilan kompetensi akademik dari pada
pengetahuan. (seperti; penyusunan rencana pembelajaran, penguasaan metode
pembelajaran atau teknik penyusunan evaluasi dan analisis hasil)Kepala sekolah
agar lebih sering memberi motivasi guru agar mau meningkatkan kompetensi
professional akademik melalui diskusi ilmiah maupun seminar-seminar.

ABSTRACT
This thesis describes the influence of schools supervisor of and the principal?s
leadership toward academic professional competencies.This thesis uses multiple
regression analysis method with quantitative approach.The results of this study
found that school leadership has more influence than the supervising
superintendent of schools on teachers' professional competence. The significancy
of the influence up to 43 percent and the other factors that are not described in this
study. Based on the result of this study recommends that the supervisors at the
time of supervision better emphasize the skills of academic competence than on
knowledge. (such as preparation of lesson plans, mastery learning methods or
techniques of evaluation preparation and analysis of results). The principal should
motivate the teachers more often the professional competence through the
