Next Generation Mobile Network (NGMN) merupakan representasi sebuah model jaringan seluler baru yang berbasis Internet Protokol (IP) dalam menyediakan produk-produk seperti voice, multimedia, video dan sebagainya. Selama beberapa tahun terakhir, sejumlah operator telekomunikasi telah menyusun rencana untuk mengimplementasikan jaringan ini. Skripsi ini membahas perbandingan dari jaringan seluler generasi ke-3 (3G) dengan teknologi pertama yang diratifikasi sebagai NGMN, LTE, untuk melihat sejauh mana perbedaan kinerja antara keduanya serta dampak pengimplementasian jaringan NGMN ini. Dari hasil perbandingan didapati bahwa NGMN lebih unggul dibandingkan jaringan WCDMA 3G dalam ditinjau dari sisi teknologi, kapasitas, serta kualitas penyediaan layanan.

Next Generation Mobile Network (NGMN) is a representation of a new cellular network model based on Internet Protocol (IP) in providing products such as voice, multimedia, video and etc. Over the past few years, a number of telecom operators have been making plans to implement this network. This thesis discusses the comparison of cellular 3rd generation network (3G) with the first technology that was ratified as the NGMN, LTE, to see how far the performance difference between them and the impact of implementing this NGMN network. From the results of the comparison found that NGMN is more superior than the WCDMA 3G network in terms of the technology, capacity, and quality of service provision.
