Value engineering (VE) adalah metode yang sistematik untuk meningkatkan nilai melalui analisa fungsi. Penerapan VE dapat menghasilkan nilai optimum baik dari segi kualitas, teknologi, efisiensi dan inovasi proyek. Panduan penerapan VE diperlukan untuk mengoptimalkan penerapan VE dan meningkatkan pemahaman VE yang sesuai dengan standar internasional.
Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi materi-materi pokok panduan penerapan VE dan mengembangkan panduan untuk meningkatkan analisa fungsi pada bangunan gedung. Survey kuesioner dibentuk untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian dan disebarkan secara offline dan online.
Hasil penelitian menemukan materi-materi pokok panduan VE adalah tujuan penerapan, rencana kerja (proses peningkatan nilai dan analisa fungsi) dan tim VE yang menjadi faktor kesuksesan kritikal penerapan studi VE.
Value Engineering (VE) is a systematic method that using function analysis to improve value of a project. The proper application of VE method is expected to deliver best value of a project in terms of quality, technology, efficiency and innovation. The guideline is required to optimize the application of VE and to increase understanding of VE based on international standards. The development of guideline of VE should be developed in accordance with the context and scenario of Indonesian construction industry. The main objectives of this research are thus to identify the subjects of guideline of value engineering application and develop guidelines to improve the function analysis for building development. Survey questionnaire was formed to answer the purposes of research and deployed offline and online. The study found the subjects of guideline of VE application are the objectives and purposes of VE, the job plan (the process of value improvement and function analysis) and the VE team as the critical success factors of VE application.
