The loss due to the infringement to Intellectual Property Rights especially to copyright is very high. Indonesia is dubbed as "Heaven for Piracy". Every year, the state has suffered a loss in the amount of 40 billion rupiah in tax because of the piracy. Due to the economic growth and the buying power the people, approximately 40 million cassettes and CDs are absorbed by the market every month. But of the above mentioned number, only 2 million of cassettes as well as CDs are produced byt he official producers, whereas the rest totaling 38 million cassettes and CDs are supplied by the pirates.
