This study aims to End factors that influence
utilization of maternal health care by pregnant women with
complication using the results of the 2002-2003 indonesia
Demographic and Health Survey. Factor analyzed are women ?s
empowerment, husband 's involvement, women's knowledge on
health care and socioeconomic conditions. By applying logistic
regression and using I0 independent variables to represent
those factors, this study reveals that husbands education,
husband's companionship for antenatal care (ANC) visits,
women 's knowledge about danger signs of pregnancy
complications, and 14/0men's involvement in decision making
significantly influence the utilization of maternal health care.
Husband 's support in ANC was found as the strongest factor of
women?s health seeking behavior during pregnancy followed by
husband 's education, women 's involvement in decision making,
and women 's knowledge about danger signs of pregnancy
complications. Therefore, any intervention program aimed at
improving maternal health in indonesia should address the
issues related to the four aspects mentioned above.
