 Abstract

ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini membahas mengenai penggambaran fungsi perpustakaan
sekolah dalam shoujo manga terbitan MnC Comics 2011. Metode penelitian yang
digunakan adalah analisi isi kuantitatif dengan mengidentifikasi representasi
fungsi perpustakaan sekolah berdasarkan kegiatan siswa di perpustakaan. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan fungsi perpustakaan sekolah paling banyak
direpresentasikan sebagai fungsi rekreatif (59%) dan yang paling kecil adalah
fungsi tanggung jawab administratif (10%). Representasi fungsi perpustakaan
sekolah tersebut menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan sekolah merupakan tempat di
mana segala macam interaksi dapat dilakukan oleh siswa. Manga sebagai novel
fiktif yang bersifat menghibur umumnya dibuat berdasarkan pengalaman
keseharian sehingga dapat menggambarkan kondisi siswa di Jepang dalam
memanfaatkan perpustakaan sekolah.

ABSTRACT
This research explains about representation the functions of school
libraries in shoujo manga which was published by MnC Comics 2011. This
research uses quantitative content analysis to calculate the activities of the
characters in school libraries based on certain characteristics to be classified
according to the functions of school libraries. The result of research shows that the
functions of school libraries is the most representated as recreation function (59%)
and the smallest is the administratitive responsibilty function (10%). The
representation functions of school libraries show that the school library is a place
where every kind of interactions can be done by student. Manga as a fiction novel
which is entertaining generally made base on daily experience so that can describe
the condition of students in Japan whom using school libraries.
