ABSTRAKSkripsi ini bertujuan untuk memahami kebutuhan informasi dan upayapemenuhan kebutuhan informasi remaja kota. Penelitian ini menggunakanpendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Hasil penelitian iniadalah identifikasi terhadap berbagai kebutuhan informasi pada diri remaja danupaya pemenuhannya. Remaja memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya denganmenggunakan sumber informasi seperti media elektonik, media cetak dan sumberinformasi manusia. Penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa perpustakaan seharusnyadapat menyediakan layanan khusus untuk remaja, memperluas atau menambahkanjenis informasi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan remaja dan membuat perpustakaanmenjadi trend dikalangan remaja.

ABSTRACTThis thesis aims to understand the needs of information for urban teenagers and

the effort to fulfill that needs. This study used a qualitative approach with the case

study method. The results of this research are the identification variety of

information needed by urban teenagers, and the effort to fulfill it. Teens try to

fulfill their information needs using information sources such as electronic media,

print media and human resources. This research suggests that the library provide

services especially for teenagers, expanding and adding any kind of information

that meet the needs of teenagers and making the library as a trend among teens.
