Pendekatan PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy) pada anak laki-laki usia sekolah dengan masalah perilaku disruptive. = A Parent-Child Interaction Therapy Approach for A School Aged Boy with Disruptive Behavior Problems

 Abstract

Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan PCIT untuk menurunkan perilaku disruptive pada anak laki-laki usia 7 tahun. Melalui pendekatan PCIT sebagai intervensi dyadic, orang tua (ibu) mendapatkan pengajaran dan pelatihan guna meningkatkan keterampilan untuk menciptakan interaksi ibu dan anak yang lebih hangat dan mendisiplinkan perilaku anak. Studi ini menggunakan desain penelitian singlesubject design. Guna mengevaluasi efektivitas hasil intervensi, peneliti menggunakan DPICS III untuk melihat perkembangan kualitas interaksi ibu dan anak serta Eyberg Childhood Behavior Inventory (ECBI) untuk mengukur penurunan intensitas perilaku disruptive anak. Hasil program intervensi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perkembangan kualitas interaksi antara ibu dan anak serta adanya penurunan skor ECBI anak. Hasil yang diperoleh tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penerapan penggunaan pendekatan PCIT efektif untuk menurunkan perilaku disruptive pada anak usia sekolah.

This study used Parent-Child Interaction Therapy approach to decrease disruptive behavior problems on a school aged boy at the age 7 years old. Throughout this dyadic intervention program, parent was taught and coached some specific skills in order to improve their parenting practices so that parent can build more warmth relationship with her child and discipline her child. This study used single-subject design. Efficacy of this intervention program was examined by DPICS-III that used to observe mother-child interaction and Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory (ECBI) that used to measure the level of disruptive behavior. Result showed improvement in the quality of mother-child interaction and a decrease in child behavior problems. PCIT seems to be an efficacious intervention for school aged boy with disruptive behavior problems.
