Tesis ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas program training komunikasi asertif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kerjasama pada Pre Operational First Officer di PT. X. Tipe penelitian ini adalah action research dengan partisipan sebanyak 7 orang. Alat ukur perilaku asertif adalah adaptasi dari Rathus Assertiveness Schedule (Rathus,1973) dengan nilai koefisien alpha (α) sebesar 0,744. Sedangkan untuk mengukur keterampilan kerjasama, digunakan adaptasi dari Teamwork Skill Questionnaire (O?Neil 1996) dengan nilai koefisien alpha (α) sebesar 0,750. Hasil uji korelasi Spearman-Rho menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara perilaku asertif dengan keterampilan kerjasama dengan korelasi sebesar 0,773 dan signifikansi 0,042 (p>0,05). Dengan demikian semakin tinggi perilaku asertif, maka semakin tinggi keterampilan kerjasama. Sementara hasil uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test menunjukkan perbedaan skor sebelum dan sesudah intervensi pada perilaku asertif dengan nilai signifikansi 0,027 (p>0,05) dan pada skor keterampilan kerjasama dengan nilai signifikansi 0,042 (p>0,05). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa training komunikasi asertif dapat meningkatkan perilaku asertif dan keterampilan kerjasama pada responden. Dengan demikian perusahaan dapat menerapkan training komunikasi asertif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kerjasama pada pre operational first officer.

The purpose of this thesis is to see the effectiveness of assertive communication training program to improve teamwork skills of pre operational first officer at X company. This research used action research method with 7 participants. The research that was used Rathus Assertiveness Schedule (Rathus, 1973) with alpha coefficient (α = 0,744), and Teamwork Skill Questionnaire (O?Neil 1996) with alpha coefficient (α = 0,750) to measure teamwork skill.

The result showed a significant relationship between assertive behavior and teamwork skill with a correlation value of 0.773 and significance of 0.042 (p <0.05). It showed that with increasing assertive behavior so teamwork skill will be increase too. In addition, there were significant differences score before and after intervention program of assertive behavior (p=0.027<0.05) and (p=0.042<0.05) of teamwork skill.

The analysis results showed that assertive communication training can enhance assertive behavior and teamwork skill of participant. Assertive Communication Training can be used by company to improve teamwork skill of pre operational first officer.
