AbstractThis is a critical study of biotechnology as an ideology. In current issues, biotechnology is not only developed by the needs of science and technological expertises, but also influenced by the sponsored of capitalism. This study uses psychoanalysis approach, especially Lacanian ones, to look at the development of capitalism and the establishment of its influence toward biotechnology. The purpose is providing information about the body which represented as a machine, that has a dependency with the biotechnology.
