Skripsi ini meneliti tentang pembingkaian berita dampak erupsi Merapi 26 Oktotober 2010 oleh TV One sebagai televisi swasta nasional dan Jogja TV sebagai televisi lokal di daerah bencana. Selain pembingkaian, penelitian ini juga ingin melihat penerapan jurnalisme bencana oleh kedua media tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dan pendekatan kualitatif. Untuk analisis, digunakan metode framing oleh Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki. Peneliti menemukan bahwa kedua stasiun televisi belum dapat sepenuhnya menerapkan prinsip jurnalisme bencana. Baik TV One maupun Jogja TV sama-sama kurang dapat menerapkan prinsip akurasi. Selain itu, TV One pun cenderu.

This thesis is focusing on framing of the news of Merapi eruption impact, October 26th 2010, by TV One as the national television and Jogja TV as the local television in disaster area. Besides that, this thesis wants to see the practice of disaster journalism by these two media. This research uses constructivist paradigm and qualitative approach with the framing method by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. As the result, the researcher finds out that both TV One and Jogja TV, have not practiced disaster journalism yet. These two media are not practicing accuracy clearly. Moreover, TV One also against the rule of humanism by dramatizing its news.
