Investasi langsung asing (FDI) telah diakui secara luas sebagai faktor yang meningkatkan pertumbuhan dalam penerimaan investasi negara tuan rumah. FDI tidak hanya membawa modal tetapi juga memperkenalkan teknologi canggih yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan teknologi perusahaan negara tuan rumah. Manfaat teknologi tidak terbatas pada perusahaan-perusahaan lokal berafiliasi tetapi juga dapat menyebar ke non-afiliasi dan disebut sebagai technology spillovers. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan foreign direct investment dan technology spillovers terhadap produktivitas perusahaan dengan menggunakan 61 perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) secara konsisten selama periode 2001-2010. Variabel yang digunakan di antaranya kepemilikan, ukuran perusahaan, dan jumlah saham untuk menghitung tingkat produktivitas dengan tingkat kepercayaan 90%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari foreign direct investment dan technology spillovers terhadap produktivitas perusahaan manufaktur berskala besar secara simultan.

Foreign direct investment has been widely recognized as factors that increase revenue growth of investment in the host country. Foreign direct investment brings not only capital but also introduce advanced technologies that can enhance the company's technological capabilities of the host country. The benefits of technology are not limited to local firms are affiliated but also can spread to non-affiliates and referred to as technology spillovers. This study aims to determine the influence of foreign direct investment and technology spillovers on productivity of companies uses 61 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) consistently over the period 2001-2010. Variable uses such as ownership, firm size, and number of shares to calculate the level of productivity with 90% confidence level. The results showed there were significant effects of foreign direct investment and technology spillovers on the productivity of large-scale manufacturing enterprises simultaneously.
