Skripsi ini membahas tentang kehidupan masyarakat Tionghoa di Kalimantan Barat selama periode pendudukan Jepang hingga masa revolusi. Kehidupan masyarakat Tionghoa mengalami dinamika di berbagai aspek kehidupan baik politk, ekonomi hingga sosial. Masyarakat Tionghoa yang sangat sulit menentukan sikap sehingga mereka dikenal dengan “minoritas perantara” ditambah lagi dengan sikap mereka yang terpecah satu sama lain. Kesulitan dalam menetukan sikap ini diakibatkan oleh rasa cinta tanah air yang masih dalam terhadap Tiongkok. Hal itu juga berdampak pada sikap mereka yang hanya peduli dengan bidang ekonomi dan terkesan tidak peduli dengan keadaan politik Kalimantan Barat. Motivasi mereka yang kuat untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan membuat mereka memegang sektor-sektor strategis dalam perekonomian di Kalimantan Barat.

This thesis discusses about the Chinese community in West Kalimantan during the period of Japanese occupation until the Revolution. China suffers dynamic community life in many aspects of life both political, economic to social. Chinese society is very difficult to determine the attitude that they are known as "middleman minorities" coupled with the attitude of those who split from each other. The difficulty in determine the attitude is caused by a sense of patriotism that is still in the China. It also affects the attitude of those who are only concerned with the economy and do not seem to care about the political state of West Kalimantan. Their strong motivation to improve the welfare of making them hold strategic sectors of the economy in the West Kalimantan.
