Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara kualitas attachment anak pada ibu dan kompetensi sosial anak pra-sekolah. Pengukuran kualitas attachment menggunakan modifikasi dari alat ukur Parent/Child Reunion Inventory (P/CRI) yang dibuat oleh Marcus (2001) dengan menggunakan insecurity scale dan pengukuran kompetensi sosial menggunakan modifikasi dari alat ukur Social Skill Rating System (SSRS) yang dibuat oleh Gresham & Elliot (1990) yang diukur melalui keterampilan sosial dan perilaku bermasalah. Partisipan berjumlah 100 orang ibu yang memiliki anak berusia 3 - 5 tahun. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara kualitas attachment dengan keterampilan sosial anak (pearson correlation = -0.446, p = 0.000, signifikan pada L.o.S 0.01), dan juga menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kualitas attachment dengan perilaku bermasalah (pearson correlation = 0.374, p = 0.000, signifikan pada L.o.S 0.01). Karena menggunakan insecurity scale untuk mempermudah skoring, maka hasil yang didapat menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kualitas insecure attachment anak pada ibu, maka akan semakin rendah keterampilan sosial yang dimiliki anak. sebaliknya semakin tinggi kualitas insecure attachment anak pada ibu, maka anak akan semakin sering menampilkan perilaku bermasalah.

This research was conducted to find the correlation between children to mother attachment quality and the children social competence in pre-school. The attachment quality was measured by modification of P/CRI tool (created by Marcus, 2001) using insecure scale method. The measurement of the social competence was measured by modification of SSRS tool (created by Gresham & Elliot, 1990) that measured through social skills and problem behavior. The participants of this research are 100 mothers whose having a child between 3 to 5 years old. The main results of this research show that the attachment quality negatively correlated significantly with and the children’s social competence (pearson correlation = -0.446, p = 0.000, significant at L.o.S 0.01). The attachment quality also positively correlated significantly with the problem behavior (pearson correlation = 0.374, p = 0.000, significant at L.o.S 0.01). Because of this study using insecurty scale to easier the skoring, this result show that the higher is children’s insecurity attachment to mother, the lower is the children’s social competence. In reverse, the higher is the children’s insecurity attachment to mother, children will more often showed problem behavior.
