Tujuan dari tesis ini adalah melihat bagaimana pengaruh dari keputusan investasi barang modal terhadap nilai perusahaan pada saat ada atau tidaknya dewan komisaris yang berpcran efektif Keputusan investasi barang modal merupakan salnb satu kebijakan yang sangat penting dalam upaya meningkatkan nilai perusahaan, karena investasi ini akan membcri sinyal pertumbuhan pendapatan perusabaan yang diharapkan di masa yang akan datang dan mampu meningkatkan nilai perusahaan yang diproksi melalui return saham. Dewan komisaris memiliki tanggung jawab dan wewenang untuk mengawasi tindakan direksi agar direksi dapat bertindak sesuai dengan tujuan pemilik perusahaan dan stakeholder lainnya Penelitian ini menggunakan 198 observasi dengan sampel yang diambil dari perusahaan yang terdaftar di BEJ pada tahun 2007. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan hahwa keputusan investasi barang modal berpengaruh positif terhadap nilai perusahaan dan efektivitas dewan komisaris tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap keputusan investasi barang modal yang dapat meningkatkan nilai perusahaan.

The aim of this research is to determine the impact of capital expenditure on the value of the firm at the time whether or not the board of director whose role effectively. Capital expenditure is one of the most important policy in ""effort to enhance the value of the firm, because this investment will give a signal that corporate earnings growth is expected in the future and able to enhance the firm value through stock return that proxy. Board of directors has the responsibility and authority to oversee the actions of directors for directors to act in accordance with the purpose of company owners and other stakeholders. This study used 198 observations with samples taken from companies listed on the BEJ from the year 2007.The results of this study found that capital expenditure has positive effect on the firm value and effectiveness of the board of directors has no effect on capital investment decisions that can enhance value of the firm.
