Filosofi Community policing dirasakan telah merubah bentuk dasar dari pemolisian di masyarakat modem dengan cara mengganti polisi sebagai pengatur masyarakat menjadi polisi sebagaJ pendukung dari rnasyarakat. Oengan lebih mendekatkan diri ke masyarakat dan lebih melibatkan masyarakat dalam menjaga keamanan, melahirkan suatu bentuk pengendalian dan pencegahan kriminal secara aktif. Demi mencapai hal tersebut, petugas kepolisian hendalmya perlu lebih mengenal, beradaptasi dan membangun kepercayaan (trust-i>uilding) dengun masyarnkat di wilayalmya. Tidak kalah penting petlu dirasakan perlunya rnerangkui masyarakat sebagai mitra (strategic partner) derni meningkatkan kualiw pelayanan kepada maseryakat pnlisprosedur pnlisi, dan rasa arnan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengqji pengaruh petayanan dan prosedur polisi terhadap rasa aman roasyarakat, khususnya warga Rempoa pada saat teJjadinya ben!rok dengan Ormas FBR pada 31 Jull 2010.
