Kota Depok sebagai Kota Hinterland merupakan wilayah yang sedang tumbuh dan berkembang sejak pemekaran dari Kabupaten Bogor pata tahu 1999. Akibat dari perkembangan dan pertumbuhan yang semakin pesat maka Kota Depok juga mengalami peningkatan guna memenuhi berbagai kebutuhan kota dan penduduknya. Jumlah penduduk Kota Depok yang saat ini dengan jumlah penduduk 1.738.570 juta jiwa per tahun 2010 dan lahan yang seluas 118,50 km², tergolong padat yang cukup padat. Dengan jumlah penduduk dan luas wilayah tersebut maka kondisi RTH sudah mulai jauh dari kata cukup untuk perbandingan kebutuhan RTH dengan jumlah wilayah dan jumlah penduduk. Dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup Kota Depok perlu peningkatan luas RTH. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kurang tersedianya RTH Publik di Kota Depok.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dengan wawancara terstruktur yang dilakukan pada dinas-dinas yang terkait, faktor-faktor yang diidentifikasi sebagai penyebab kurang tersedianya RTH Publik adalah faktor keterbatasan lahan, faktor lemahnya pengawasan, faktor keterbatasan dana, faktor fokus perencanaan, faktor implementasi perencanaan, faktor peraturan yang menjadi acuan, faktor kinerja kelembagaan.
