Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara penyesuaian diri di perguruan tinggi dan stres psikologispada mahasiswa tahun pertama Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Indonesia. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan alat ukur Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) untuk mengetahui gambaran penyesuaian diri di perguruan tinggi partisipan dan alat ukur Hopkins Symptom Checklist-25 (HSCL-25) untuk mengetahui tingkat stres psikologis partisipan.Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 94 orang mahasiswa tahun pertama Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Indonesia. Teknik analisis data menggunakan pearson correlation untuk menjawab permasalahan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif dan signifikan antara penyesuaian diri di perguruan tinggi dan stres psikologis(r = -.284).

This research was conducted to determine the correlation between college adjustment and psychological distress on Faculty of Psychology University of Indonesia First-year Students. This research method use quantitative approach using Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) to get the descriptive data about participant‟s college adjustment and Hopnkins Sympton Checklist-25 (HSCL-25) to determine the level of psychological distress on participants. Participants in this study were 94 Faculty of Psychology University of Indonesia first-year students. Pearson Correlation analysis technique was used to answer the research problem. Result showed that there is negative and significant correlation between college adjustment and psychological distress on Faculty of Psychology University of Indonesia first-year students (r = -.284).
