Penelitian ini mendiskusikan sebuah studi analisis perbandingan logistik reverse dan logistik forward dari sudut pandang biaya sebuah module jenis 5B yang dimiliki oleh PT.TMMIN. Tujuan dari studi ini untuk membandingkan performance module returnable packaging 5 B RR terhadap module disposable 5B 1-Way yang digunakan oleh PT.TMMIN per satu unit modulenya dalam satu kali rotasi dan perbandingan investasinya selama 6 tahun untuk mengekspor komponen engine ke STM. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan pendekatan total cost of ownership yaitu dengan melihat biaya-biaya relevan yang terkait dengan implementasi 1 unit module 5B RR dan 5B 1-Way. Hasilnya menunjukkan module 5B RR memiliki TCO 30 % lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan TCO module 5B 1-Way. Hasil identifkasi biaya dengan pendekatan TCO kemudian dikombinasi dan dihitung dengan menggunakan analisis NPV selama 6 tahun untuk melihat kelayakan investasinya. Hasilnya membuktikan investasi module 5B RR bisa menghemat biaya hingga 50% dari investasi module 5B 1-Way.
