ABSTRAKTesis ini membahas mengenai program hibah Millennium Challenge Account
(MCA) di Indonesia. Pemberian bantuan luar negeri selalu terkait dengan motif
negara donor dan negara resipien. Penelitian ini menginvestigasi motif Amerika
Serikat (AS) dalam pemberian hibah MCA ke Indonesia yang dirumuskan dalam
motif politik dan ekonomi. Motif Politik pemberian MCA terkait dengan
pembuktian AS dalam isu pelestarian lingkungan global. Motif ekonomi terkait
dengan upaya AS untuk melindungi perusahaan AS di Indonesia, perluasan pasar
AS, dan pembentukan iklim yang kondusif bagi perusahaan AS.
ABSTRACTThis study discussed the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) grant program in
Indonesia. The provision of foreign aid could be associated with the motives of
donor countries and the resipien countries. This research investigates the united
states (U.S.) motives in the provision of MCA grants to indonesia which was
formulated in political and economy motives. Political motives of MCA
associated with the U.S. proof in relation in preserving the global environment.
The economic motive associated with the attempts to protect U.S. companies in
Indonesia, the expansion of U.S. market, and the formation of conducive climate
for U.S. companies.
