ABSTRAK Tesis ini membahas konstruksi identitas yang ada pada penggemar Kpop dalam
dua blog penggemar Kpop Korean Chingu dan Yeppopo. Lebih dalam lagi, tesis
ini menggali pengaruh konsumsi Kpop terhadap penggemarnya dengan
melakukan analisis terhadap elemen-elemen yang ada pada blog serta analisis
tekstual terhadap komentar-komentar para anggota blog. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa Kpop dalam konteks blog Korean Chingu dan Yeppopo
merupakan konstruksi “kekoreaan” yang dibentuk oleh para penggemarnya di
Indonesia. Konstruksi identitas Korea yang dikonstruksi dalam kedua blog juga
tidak ditampilkan mendominasi identitas Indonesia para anggota blog, namun
identitas Korea tersebut telah menjadi bagian dari identitas para blogger dalam
kedua blog. Sehingga, para blogger dalam kedua blog memiliki identitas multi
yang terus berproses. Selain itu, Kpop dalam konteks blog Korean Chingu dan
Yeppopo juga tidak dapat dilepaskan dari konteks produksi dan konsumsi budaya
yang dilakukan para fendom Kpop dalam komunitas blog tersebut.
ABSTRACT This thesis analyses the construction of identity of Kpop fans in two blogs,
Korean Chingu and Yeppopo. Further more, this thesis explores the impact of
consuming Kpop toward its fans through the analyses of elements in the blog and
the textual analayses towards the comments of the blog members. The results of
this research show that Kpop in the context of Korean Chingu and Yeppopo blogs
is the construction of “koreanism” created by its fans in Indonesia. This
construction then doesn’t reflect domination over Indonesian Identity of both
blogs members, however, the Korean Identity has been part of the bloggers
identity. Therefore, bloggers of both blogs have multiple identities which will not
stop processing. Besides that, the results of the research also show that Kpop in
the context of both blogs is not separable from the context of cultural production
and consumption by Kpop fans in both blogs communities.
