Diare menempati urutan kedua pembunuh anak di bawah umur lima tahun di dunia. Diaremerupakan suatu gejala hasil dari kelainan pada peoses digestif, absorbsi, dan fungsi sekresi.Penulisan karya ilmiah akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan terapi pijat padapenurunan frekuensi BAB penderita Diare. Aplikasi dilakukan pada dua anak sebagai respondenintervensi dan satu anak sebagai responden non-intervensi. Hasil penerapan terapi pijat inididapatkan bahwa terdapat penurunan frekuensi BAB pada anak dengan diare setelah dilakukanterapi pijat. Hasil penerapan aplikasi ini menyarankan institusi pelayanan kesehatan dapatmempertimbangkan dalam penerapan terapi ini sebagai terapi komplementer. Kemudian, terapikomplementer dapat dijadikan salah satu mata kuliah praktik pada mahasiswa keperawatan.

Diarrhoeal disease is the second leading cause of death in children under five years old. Diarrhoeais a symptom which is the result of disruption in digestive process, absorption, and secretion. Theobjective of this study was to ascertain the effect of massage therapy in decreasing defecationfrequency on children with diarrhoea. Samples for this study were two children as an interventionrespondents, and one child as a non-intervention respondent. Result of this study indicated thatthere is an effect in decreasing defecation frequency in children who had been through a massagetherapy.This study suggest that a health care institution should considered this therapy to beapplied as a complementer therapy. Furthermore, the complementary therapy could be conductedas a practical lesson for nursing students.
