ABSTRAKDaerah otonom baru dibentuk sebagai perwujudan aspirasi masyarakat dalam rangka mendekatkan pelayanan publik, peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat, dan peningkatan daya saing daerah. Daerah otonom baru yang
dibentuk harus memenuhi sejumlah prakondisi yang sudah diatur dalam peraturan pemerintah. Prakondisi tersebut merupakan sumber bagi daerah otonom untuk
dapat mencapai tujuannya yang salah satunya adalah daya saing daerah. Kabupaten Bandung Barat sebagai salah satu daerah otonom baru, dalam perjalanannya menunjukkan peningkatan investasi yang signifikan dalam tiga
tahun terakhir. Bertolak dari hal tersebut, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran prakondisi pembentukan daerah otonom baru tersebut dan
daya saing investasi kabupaten Bandung Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data secara kuantitatif dan
kualitatif. Adapun teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif-analitik pada variabel prakondisi dan variabel daya saing investasi. Hasil dari penelitian
ini menunjukkan bahwa elemen prakondisi Kabupaten Bandung Barat sudah memadai dilihat dari jumlah penduduk, pertumbuhan ekonomi, dan indeks pembangunan manusia. Sedangkan dari segi produk regional domestik bruto
(PDRB) dan pendapatan daerah sendiri (PDS) masih kurang. Hasil daya saing investasi kabupaten Bandung Barat termasuk tinggi dilihat dari peningkatan
investasi setiap tahunnya.

regions must meet a number of preconditions set out in government regulations. Precondition is a source for the autonomous region to be able to achieve its
objectives, one of which is the region's competitiveness. West Bandung regency as one of the new autonomous region, along the way showed a significant increase
in investment in the last three years. Departing from this, the purpose of this study was to describe the preconditions formation of new autonomous regions and
investment competitiveness of West Bandung regency. This study uses a quantitative approach to data collection techniques in quantitative and qualitative.
The techniques of data analysis using descriptive-analytic analysis of the preconditions of variables and variable investment competitiveness. The results of
this study indicate that the element precondition West Bandung regency had seen enough of the population, economic growth and human development index. In
terms of regional gross domestic product (GDP) and its own revenues (PDS) is still lacking. The results of the competitiveness of the West Bandung regency
