ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan pegawai eselon IV atas pelaksanaan promosi jabatan pada Sekretariat Jenderal Kementerian Kehutanan. Dimensi dari dasar-dasar promosi jabatan adalah
pengalaman (senioritas) dan sistem merit. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 89 orang pegawai eselon IV dan calon eselon IV pada Sekretariat Jenderal Kementerian Kehutanan yang telah mengikuti pemetaan kompetensi dan dengan
menggunakan total sampling. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana tingkat kepuasan pegawai eselon IV atas pelaksanaan promosi jabatan
pada Sekretariat Jenderal Kementerian Kehutanan. Data primer dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari kuesioner dan wawancara yang pengukurannya menggunakan
skala likert dan diolah secara statistic dengan program SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) 13.0. Kemudian hasil olahan data tersebut didistribusikan ke
dalam tabel untuk selanjutnya dianalisis dengan analisa deskriptif.
