Rancang bangun solar tracker dua sumbu = Development of two axis solar tracker

 Abstract

Pemanfaatan panel surya untuk membangkitkan energi listrik terus meningkat di seluruh dunia termasuk Indonesia. Umumnya panel surya dipasang pada suatu struktur penyangga yang dihadapkan dalam sudut tertentu yang tetap terhadap arah kedatangan cahaya matahari. Metode pemasangan seperti ini berakibat menurunnya efisiensi energi listrik yang dibangkitkan karena arah kedatangan cahaya matahari berubah setiap hari.
Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini perlu ada peralatan yang berfungsi untuk mengarahkan panel surya sesuai arah kedatangan cahaya matahari yang disebut solar tracker. Dalam penelitian ini, dikembangkan prototipe solar tracker dua sumbu. Solar tracker yang dikembangkan terdiri dari dua buah motor DC penggerak arah azimuth-elevasi, sun sensor yang terdiri dari lima fotodioda, struktur mekanik penyangga, mikrokontroler dan sistem pengendali.
Penggunaan lima fotodioda dalam penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menekan biaya pembelian sun sensor yang harganya relatif mahal di pasaran. Dalam penelitan ini, prototipe solar tracker sudah diujikan dengan menggunakan cahaya buatan dengan intensitas yang mendekati cahaya matahari. Dari hasil pengujian, solar tracker sudah dapat bekerja dengan memadai meskipun pengujian di bawah cahaya matahari langsung perlu dilakukan.

Utilization of solar panels to generate electricity is increasing throughout the world, including Indonesia. Generally, solar panels mounted on a support structure that is exposed in certain fixed angle to the direction of arrival of the sun. This installation method as the resulting decline in the efficiency of electrical energy generated because of the direction of arrival of sunlight changes every day.
To overcome this problem, there needs to be equipment that is used to steer the direction of arrival of solar panels called solar sun tracker. In this study, developed a prototype two- axis solar tracker. Solar tracker is developed consisting of two DC motors driving toward azimuth - elevation, sun sensor consists of five photodiode, the mechanical structure of the buffer, the microcontroller and control systems.
The use of five photodiode in this study is intended to reduce the cost of purchasing a sun sensor which is relatively expensive on the market. In this research, prototype solar tracker has been tested by using artificial light with an intensity that is closer to the sun. From the test results, the solar tracker has been able to work with adequately despite testing under direct sunlight needs to be done.
