Apoteker di rumah sakit merupakan salah satu sumber daya manusia yang mendukung serta terlibat dalam upaya meningkatkan pelayanan kesehatan. Dengan dilakukannya Praktek Kerja Profesi Apoteker (PKPA) ini, calon Apoteker diharapkan memahami peran dan tanggung jawab apoteker pada tiap bagian yang melibatkan Apoteker di RSUP Fatmawati, mempunyai gambaran tentang hal-hal terkait Farmasi Rumah Sakit serta mengaplikasikan ilmu kefarmasian yang telah dipelajari secara teoritis berkenaan dengan praktek di rumah sakit oleh calon Apoteker. Setelah dua bulan PKPA ini dilaksanakan, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa peran dan tanggung jawab apoteker di Instalasi Farmasi Rumah Sakit (IFRS) Fatmawati adalah melakukan kegiatan pengelolaan perbekalan farmasi dan pelayanan farmasi klinik. Beberapa masukkan yang dikemukakan meliputi struktur organisasi, sistem pelaporan narkotik dan psikotropik, penyimpanan sediaan produksi non steril, monitoring BSC produksi steril, pengaktifan kembali program konseling, pemberian label LASA serta penempatan Apoteker di depo IBS. Berkenaan dengan fungsi Apoteker dalam pelayanan farmasi klinik, maka dibuatlah tugas khusus yang bertujuan untuk menilai kesesuaian terapi pasien rawat inap yang menderita stroke (penyakit serebrovaskular). Terapi yang didapat pasien dinilai telah sesuai, hanya saja diperlukan suatu neurotropik dan penambahan dosis simvastatin untuk mencapai profil lipid yang diharapkan.

Pharmacists in hospitals is one of the human resources that support and engage in efforts to improve health care. This Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE) expected the pharmacist cadidate to understand the role and responsibilities of pharmacists in each section in hospital, had an overview of related matters and apply knowledge of practical hospital pharmacy that theoretically had been studied with respect with practice in the hospital. After two months implemented APPE, it deduced that the roles and responsibilities of pharmacists in hospital pharmacy was conducted pharmaceutical management and clinical pharmacy services. The advise to increase the pharmacy’s services quality includes organizational structure, reporting systems of narcotics and psychotropics drugs, the storage of non sterile preparation product, monitoring BSC for production sterile, reactivation counseling program, LASA’s labeling and placement of Pharmacists in the IBS . Linked to the functions of pharmacists in clinical pharmacy services, the specific task aimed to assess the suitability of treatment of hospitalized patients who suffer a stroke (cerebrovascular disease). Therapy patients was obtained appropriate, needed a neurotrophic and additional doses of simvastatin for achieving expected lipid profile.
