ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini membahas mengenai pengukuran kecepatan kendaraan dengan melakukan pendekatan kepada program (software). Pengukuran ini dilakukan dengan video hasil rekaman. Dari video tersebut dijadikan acuan untuk mengolah data melalui beberapa proses di dalam program. Program dibuat dengan anggapan bahwa benda hanya akan bergerak menuju satu arah saja sehingga data posisi objek pada suatu frame akan dibandingkan dengan data posisi pada frame sebelumnya, sehingga program akan hanya mencatat data yang sesuai. Dengan demikian, diharapkan data yang telah diseleksi akan menghasilkan error yang lebih kecil. Program ini akan menghasilkan data nomor frame, posisi pixel dari edge dan perbedaan pixel dari frame sebelumnya. Adanya informasi yang bisa didapatkan dari sebuah data video ini bisa memberikan nilai tambah dari hanya sekedar sebuah data video. Untuk itu keakuratan hasil perhitungan kecepatan kendaraan perlu dihitung juga. Setelah mengolah data video ini dan mendapatkan hasil perbandingan hasil kecepatan secara real dan perhitungan program, tujuan ke depannya adalah untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut lagi pada estimasi kecepatan kendaraan di dalam rekaman video lalu lintas.

ABSTRACT
This thesis discusses the measurement of the speed of the vehicle by approaching the program ( software ). This measurement is done with the video recordings. From the video made ​​reference to process data through several processes in the program. The program is made with the assumption that the object will only move towards one direction only so that the data object's position in a frame will be compared with data on the position of the previous frame, so that the program will only record the appropriate data. Thus, it is expected that the data has been selected to produce a smaller error. This program will generate the data frame number, the position of the edge pixel, and the pixel difference from the previous frame. The existence of information that can be obtained from a video data can provide added value than just a video data. For the accuracy of the results of the calculation speed of the vehicle needs to be calculated as well. After processing the video data and get the results of the comparison results in real speed and calculation of the program, the future goal is to be developed further to estimate the speed of the vehicle in the video recording of traffic.
