ABSTRAKPerkembangan teknologi informasi pada dekade terakhir ini telah berkembang dengan pesatnya. Piranti lunak bantu analisis yang telah dikembangkan banyak membantu para pengembang untuk membuat piranti lunak yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Dalam dasawarsa ini, universitas dituntut memiliki integritas data yang tinggi dan kecepatan pelayanan yang prima. Teknologi informasi sebagai garda depan dalam pelayanan mahasiswa menjadi sarana vital sebagai pendorong strategi universitas untuk menghadapi persaingan dengan lembaga sejenis yang akan hadir dan telah mapan di Indonesia. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana mengendalikan pembangunan piranti lunak, Sistem Informasi Akademik dengan menerapkan metode requirement engineering yang terdapat dalam metodologi pengembangan perangkat lunak Rational Unified Process. Untuk memeriksa kebenaran piranti lunak terhadap user needs dan change requirement dilakukan acceptance test. Hal ini dicapai dengan merencanakan dan merancang serangkaian tes terhadap fitur dad piranti lunak tersebut. Telaah kembali terhadap fitur-fitur ditemukan hal-hal yang kritis, yang harus ada pada registrasi perkuliahan, yaitu yang berkaitan dengan authorization, availability, data integrity, privacy dan reliability. Semua diatas diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efektifitas, efesiensi biaya dan tepat waktu dalam pengembangan sistem informasi akademik.

ABSTRACTImprovement on information technology (IT)for the last decade has been increase amazingly. Analysis tools that have been build, help the developers to build the software which is satisfied to the user needs. For the last decade, university has been challanged to give the high data integrity and excellence services. IT as the frontier ofservices for students has become a vital strategic to move forward the university to face for the competition against a kind establish organization and the new comers. Problems that arrived by this research is how to manage software development on academic information system using requirement engineering methodology on the Rational Unified Process software development methodology. Acceptance test is held to check the correctness ofsoftware to the user needs and change requirements. It is achieved by planning and designing test series to the features ofsoftware. Review on the features hasforwarded critical aspects that have to be present on the course registration, such as things that related to authorization, availability, data integrity, privacy and reliability. All ofthatfeatures expected to increase the effectivity, budget effeciency and on time at the development of academic information system.
