 Abstract

Tiga bale adat peninggalan turun temurun suku Sasak yang ada di tiga dusun di pulau Lombok, yaitu dusun Sade, Bayan, dan Senaru, masih berdiri tegak dalam keunikan wujud arsitektur dan budaya lokal. Bale adat dalam masyarakat tradisional dapat dilihat sebagai cerminan budaya setempat dalam bentuk simbol arsitektural. Melalui, orientasi bangunan, bentuk, dan susunan ruang, nilai nilai tradisi disampaikan kepada masyarakat. Sikap masyarakat yang terbuka menyebabkan terjadinya dinamika pergeseran dan perubahan kebudayaan seiring dengan berjalannya waktu. Demikian pula yang terjadi pada masyarakat suku Sasak. Skripsi ini mempertanyakan sejauh mana telah terjadi penyesuaian antara bale adat dan perubahan pola hidup dan pandangan masyarakat di masing masing desa. Penelusuran langsung dilakukan di tiga dusun. Data terkumpul dalam bentuk sketsa, foto, dan wawancara dengan pengurus bale adat. Pendekatan arsitektural dan antropologis terutama mengenai teori perubahan kebudayaan digunakan untuk melihat perubahan sikap yang terjadi. Hasil analisis menyimpulkan bahwa arsitektur bale adat tidak lagi terbaca sebagai simbol yang memiliki makna nilai tradisi oleh masyarakatnya. Ada kekuatiran bahwa arsitektur bale adat lama kelamaan akan diperlakukan sama dengan bangunan lainnya yang ada.

Three bale (traditional house) indigenous Sasak hereditary heritage existing in three hamlets on the island of Lombok, which Sade village, Bayan and Senaru that still standing upright in a unique form of architecture and local culture. Bale is customary in traditional societies can be seen as a reflection of the local culture in the form of architectural symbols. The soft attitudes of community led to the dynamics of culture shift and change over time. Similarly, what happened to the Sasak people. This skription questions the extent to which there has been an adjustment between the bale and the indigenous lifestyle changes and public opinion in their respective villages. Direct searches performed in three hamlets. Data collected in the form of sketches, photographs, and interviews with official custom bale. Architectural and anthropological approaches, especially regarding culture change theory is used to see the change in attitude occurred. The results of the analysis concluded that the custom bale architecture no longer be read as a symbol of traditional values ​​that have meaning by society. There is concern that the custom bale architecture over time will be treated the same as other existing buildings.
