ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas pengaruh dari keanggotaan Tiongkok di WTO
terhadap perkembangan ekonomi dan politik domestiknya, periode 2001-2010.
Tiongkok merupakan negara komunis pertama yang meliberalisasikan
perekonomiannya dan ingin bergabung dengan rejim perdagangan internasional
tersebut. WTO yang merupakan suatu institusi internasional memiliki prinsipprinsip
dan aturan-aturan yang bersifat mengikat bagi setiap anggotanya.
Bergabungnya Tiongkok ke dalam WTO menimbulkan dampak yang menarik
untuk dipelajari. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk membahas dan menganalisis seberapa
besar dampak positif keanggotaan di WTO terhadap perkembangan ekonomi dan
politik Tiongkok. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-analisis dalam
penyajiannya dan didukung studi pustaka yang relevan. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa keanggotaan WTO bagi Tiongkok memberikan beberapa
dampak positif bagi perkembangan ekonomi dan politik Tiongkok khususnya
dalam ekspansi pasar, peningkatan interdependensi dan munculnya transparansi di
Tiongkok.
ABSTRACTThis thesis discusses the effects of WTO membership on China's
economic and political development throughout 2001-2010. China is the first
country to liberalize its economy among communists and was in need for WTO
membership. As a multilateral trade organization, WTO has a series of binding
regulation and rules which demands total compliance from all of its members.
Chinese membership?s effects on domestic politics and economy is not only
interesting, but also provides important lessons for studies in the political
economy of development. The objective of this study is to discuss and analyze
how does Chinese entry into the WTO affect its domestic economic and political
transformation. This research employs qualitative research methodology with
explanatory type of researh and supported by relevant literature studies as its data
collecting method. It concludes that China's WTO accession provides some
positive impacts on China's economic and political development, especially on the
development of socialist market economy, developing interdependence and
