Skripsi ini membahas pengaruh dari keanggotaan Tiongkok di WTOterhadap perkembangan ekonomi dan politik domestiknya, periode 2001-2010.Tiongkok merupakan negara komunis pertama yang meliberalisasikanperekonomiannya dan ingin bergabung dengan rejim perdagangan internasionaltersebut. WTO yang merupakan suatu institusi internasional memiliki prinsipprinsipdan aturan-aturan yang bersifat mengikat bagi setiap anggotanya.Bergabungnya Tiongkok ke dalam WTO menimbulkan dampak yang menarikuntuk dipelajari. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk membahas dan menganalisis seberapabesar dampak positif keanggotaan di WTO terhadap perkembangan ekonomi danpolitik Tiongkok. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-analisis dalampenyajiannya dan didukung studi pustaka yang relevan. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa keanggotaan WTO bagi Tiongkok memberikan beberapadampak positif bagi perkembangan ekonomi dan politik Tiongkok khususnyadalam ekspansi pasar, peningkatan interdependensi dan munculnya transparansi diTiongkok.

ABSTRACT
This thesis discusses the effects of WTO membership on China'seconomic and political development throughout 2001-2010. China is the firstcountry to liberalize its economy among communists and was in need for WTOmembership. As a multilateral trade organization, WTO has a series of bindingregulation and rules which demands total compliance from all of its members.Chinese membership?s effects on domestic politics and economy is not onlyinteresting, but also provides important lessons for studies in the politicaleconomy of development. The objective of this study is to discuss and analyzehow does Chinese entry into the WTO affect its domestic economic and politicaltransformation. This research employs qualitative research methodology withexplanatory type of researh and supported by relevant literature studies as its datacollecting method.
