ABSTRAKDepresi dapat menyebabkan penderitaan yang membawa pada masalah fungsi
pada kehidupan sehari-hari, terutama lansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi depresi pada lansia. Penelitian ini
menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasi dan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel
sebesar 104 responden dengan teknik pengambilan total sampling dan
menggunakan instumen Geriatric Depression Scale-15 (GDS-15). Hasil
penelitian menyatakan terdapat hubungan bermakna antara penyakit kronik
dengan kejadian depresi (ρ=0,003, α=0,05, OR=5,938, CI=95%). Tidak ada
hubungan yang bermakna antara jenis kelamin, status pernikahan, kehilangan
pekerjaan, penurunan penghasilan, dukungan sosial dan gangguan tidur dengan
kejadian depresi. Penelitian ini diharapkan membantu pelayanan keperawatan
dalam mencegah terjadinya depresi pada lansia dengan mengetahui faktor
penyebab depresi.

influence depression in elderly. This research used correlative descriptive design
and used cross-sectional approach. The respondents were 104 elderly which

job, less of income, social support, and sleep disturbance. This research was
