[Super freeze container merupakan suatu media penyimpanan berpendingin yang
dapat mencapai temperatur sangat rendah hingga -60ᴼ C. Tuna merupakan
komoditas yang memanfaatkan kontainer ini di dalam pengirimannya sebagai
komoditas ekspor beku. Dengan adanya kontainer ini memungkinkan tuna
mencapai kualitas nomor 1 yang sangat disyaratkan oleh negara Jepang sebagai
pengkonsumsi tuna terbesar. Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara penghasil tuna
terbesar di dunia seharusnya sudah memanfaatkan super freeze container. Oleh
sebab itu diperlukan adanya suatu studi baik dari konstruksinya hingga sistem
pendinginnya. Studi ini dimulai dengan perhitungan konstruksi dasar dan
dilanjutkan dengan perhitungan cooling load. Cooling load total yang diperoleh
digunakan untuk mendapatkan parameter-parameter siklus refrigerasi dan terakhir
adalah pemilihan komponen sistem refrigerasi. Pada sistem ini digunakan sistem
refrigerasi kompresi uap bertingkat atau cascade dengan menggunakan refrigeran
