[Twitter menjadi ruang publicsphere yang diciptakan dalam komunitas maya atauvirtualsphere. Penggunaannya pun bisa beralih fungsi menjadi ranah debat politik,gerakan mahasiswa hingga kampanye partai kepentingan demi meningkatakanelektabilitas. Untuk itulah penelitian mengenai hubungan antara jaringan sosial padaTwitter terhadap partisipasi politik online dan offline dilakukan. Dengan mengambilsampel mahasiswa yang tergabung dalam organisasi BEM FISIP UI 2014 dan BPMFISIP UI 2014. Dan hasilnya, bahwa jaringan sosial pengguna twitter cenderungkurang mempengaruhi partisipasi politik online dan offline. Namun, ditemukanbahwa dalam virtualsphere terjadi fenomena slacktivism dan clicktivism padamahasiswa.;Twitter have became shared information from user to other user. Even, it could be anew public sphere in a virtual sphere.
