[Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan literasi informasi oleh mahasiswa pascasarjana program studi Ilmu
Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia. Mahasiswa ini seharusnya memiliki kemampuan literasi informasi
yang baik. Dalam penelitian ini fokus kajian lebih ditekankan pada kemampuan mahasiswa dalam
menelusur informasi menggunakan fasilitas internet. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan
kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Model Empowering 8 digunakan sebagai metode dan menguji
penerapan literasi informasi. Model Empowering 8 terdiri dari identifikasi, eksplorasi,
seleksi, organisasi, menciptakan, presentasi, penilaian dan penerapan. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa pascasarjana Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia
melakukan penerapan literasi informasi hanya beberapa tahap di Model Empowering 8. Namun tidak
semua tahapan tersebut dilakukan, seperti tahapan yang termasuk pada bagian identifikasi,
menciptakan,
presentasi, dan penilaian.;The focus of this study is about information literacy application for postgraduate student of
Library and Information Science, University of Indonesia batch 2013. The informant must have a good
information literacy skill. Information literacy we talks about in this research related with
internet. This study emphasize in the postgraduate student information literacy skill using
internet. This is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The analysis of this study is
based on Empowering 8 model which consist of identification, exploration, selection, organization,
creation, presentation, assess, and application. The result of this research suggests that the
postgraduate student of Library and Information Science apply some of the steps of Empowering
8 model. The steps that are not being applied are
identification, creation, presentation, and assess.
