Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan berada di bawah Kementrian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia. Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan memliki tugas merumuskan dan melaksanakan kebijakan dan standarisasi teknis di bidang pembinaan kefarmasian dan alat kesehatan. Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan terdiri atas Sekretariat Direktorat Jenderal, Direktorat Bina Obat Publik dan Perbekalan Kesehatan, Direktorat Bina Pelayanan Kefarmasian, Direktorat Bina Produksi dan Distribusi Alat Kesehatan dan Direktorat Bina Produksi dan Distribusi Kefarmasian. Direktorat Bina Produksi dan Distribusi Alat Kesehatan memiliki tanggung jawab dalam hal pemberian sertifikat produksi, izin penyalur alat kesehatan, izin edar serta pembinaan, pengendalian, dan pengawasan alat kesehatan dan PKRT yang beredar dalam wilayah Republik Indonesia. Kegiatan Praktek Kerja Profesi Apoteker dilaksanakan pada tanggal 17 Maret - 28 Maret 2014 di Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan dengan tujuan untuk memahami peran apoteker di Direktorat Bina Produksi dan Distribusi Alat Kesehatan Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan. Sedangkan tujuan dari tugas khusus adalah mengetahui kegiatan penindakan sarana produksi, distribusi, produk alat kesehatan dan PKRT oleh Subdirektorat Inspeksi Alat Kesehatan dan PKRT pada Direktorat Produksi dan Distribusi Alat Kesehatan dan Perbekalan Kesehatan Rumah Tangga (PKRT).

General Directorate of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device is under the Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia. General Directorate of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device has assignment to formulate and implement a policy and technical standardization in the field of pharmaceutical development and medical devices. General Directorate of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices consist of a Secretariat of General Directorate, Directorate of Public Medicines and Medical Supply, Directorate of Pharmaceutical Services, Directorate of Medical Devices Production and Distribution and Directorate of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution. Directorate of Medical Devices Production and Distribution have responsibility to give production certificate, channel license of medical device, permission to circulate as well as guidance, control, and supervision of medical devices and circulate of PKRT in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. Pharmacists Internship Program (PIP) activities held on Maret 17 - Maret 28, 2014 in General Directorate of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device with the aim to understand the role of pharmacist on Directorate of Medical Device Production and Distribution General Directorate of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device. While the aim of specific assignment is to know suppression activities of place of production, distribution, product of medical device and PKRT by Subdirectorate of Inspection of medical devices production and distribution.
