The authors here a new approach, based on recent findings on an underestimated PAH components. They describe occurrence, occurrence and biological activity of a number relevant for humans polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and thus provide a comprehensive overview of the problem. The book is the result of intensive scientific work in the context of ad hoc working group "PAH" of the DFG Senate Commission for the Investigation of Health Hazards of Chemical Compounds.
