Pengujian electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) dilakukan untuk menganalisa perbandingan terhadap coating primer antara epoxy dan alkyd serta topcoat antara polyurethane dan acrylic. Penggunaan metode salt spray (sembur garam) dilakukan terhadap coating primer sebagai analisa kualitatif. Analisa FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) dilakukan untuk mengkarakterisasi terhadap gugus fungsi pelapis dan mendukung adhesi antara pelapis dengan substrat.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagai pelapis primer coat, epoxy akan memiliki performa serta perlindungan yang lebih baik dibandingkan alkyd. Sedangkan pada pelapis topcoat, didapatkan polyurethane yang memiliki performa lebih baik dibandingkan acrylic.

Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) studies have been carried out to compare coating primer between epoxy and alkyd also topcoat between polyurethane and acrylic. The use of the method of salt spray conducted on the qualytitative analysis. FTIR analysis determined the functional groups supporting the adhesion between the coating as well as with the substrate.The results showed that sample epoxy will have performance and better protection than alkyd as coating primer. While the topcoat, polyurethane has the best performance compared to acrylic.
