Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis anomali month of the year effect terhadap abnormal return saham dengan mengelompokan perusahaan berdasarkan firm size. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah perusahaan yang tercatat di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada periode 2009-2013 indeks sektoral. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa terdapat anomali month of the year effect di Bursa Efek Indonesia yaitu pada bulan Juli, dan anomali tersebut tidak sepenuhnya mempengaruhi keseluruhan perusahaan yang tercatat, dikarenakan perbedaan anomali month of the year yaitu bulan Mei di sektor Aneka Industri, dan Juni, Juli pada sektor Infrastruktur, Utilitas, dan Transportasi. Selain itu Behavioral Finance dan firm size juga mempengaruhi keberadaan anomali month of the year effect.

This study aims to analyze the effect of month of the year anomaly on abnormal return by considering the firm size. The samples of this study are firms that listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2009-2013, sectoral index. The analytical method is using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). The result of this study prove that there is a month of the year effect in Indonesia Stock Exchange, in July, and the anomaly isn’t effect all of the listed company, due to the differences in anomaly month of the year effect, May at MiscellaneousSector and June, July at Infrastructue, Utilities, and Transportation Sector. This study also prove that Behavioral Finance and firm size affect the existence of anomaly month of the year effect.
