Pada masa sekarang ini profesi pustakawan masih belum sepenuhnya mendapat tempat di hati masyarakat kita. Banyak yang beranggapan bahwa profesi pustakawan adalah profesi yang tidak perlu memiliki pendidikan khusus, dan dapat dilakukan oleh siapa saja. Namun tidak demikian dengan pustakawan yang bernama Flynn Carsen. Adanya keahlian-keahlian khusus yang dimiliki olehnya, menjadikan Flynn sebagai pustakawan yang dihargai keberadaannya. Melalui pendekatan kuantitatif, maka hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi positif yang dimiliki oleh penonton terhadap profesi pustakawan dalam film The Librarian: Quest for The Spear disebabkan karena keahlian-keahlian yang dimiliki oleh si pustakawan baik secara profesional maupun personalnya. Adanya penilaian positif ini timbul dikarenakan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi seperti pengalaman individual yang dimiliki oleh penonton, target dari persepsi yang dalam hal ini adalah profesi pustakawan itu sendiri, serta situasi ketika persepsi itu timbul.

At this time the librarian profession still has not fully captured the hearts of our society. Many people believe that the librarian profession is a profession that does not need to have special education, and can be done by anyone. However, that perception is not fit with the librarian who called Flynn Carsen. The existence of specialized skills possessed by him, making Flynn's existence is appreciated as a librarian. Through a quantitative approach, the results of this study indicate that the positive perception held by the audience against the librarian profession in the movie The Librarian: Quest for the Spear due to the skills possessed by the librarian both professional and personal. The existence of this positive assessment arise due to factors affecting such individual experience possessed by the audience, the target of perception which in this case is the librarian profession itself, as well as the perception of the situation when it arises.
