ABSTRAKDunia penyiaran di Indonesia beragam bentuknya, dan salah satunya adalah Sinema Elektronik
(Sinetron). Jurnal ini membahas bagaimana sebuah teori ekonomi politik berupa bentuk
komodifikasi yang diperkenalkan oleh Vincent Mosco berpengaruh terhadap nilai-nilai agama
yang terkandung di dalam sebuah sinetron yang mengangkat tema religi. Sinetron religi di
Indonesia mempunyai pengaruh besar dalam industri penyiaran maupun dalam budaya
masyarakat. Bentuk komodifikasi dalam jurnal ini berupa perubahan isi cerita, dan
komersialisasi pemain sinetron Emak Ijah Pengen ke Mekah yang tujuannya tidak lain untuk
mengejar target rating acara.
ABSTRACTThere are many forms of broadcast media in Indonesia, one of which is Soap Opera. This Journal
discusses a Commodification based on an Economic-political theory introduce by Vincent
Mosco which has influenced several religious values embedded in soap operas which
implements a religious theme. Religious soap operas in Indonesia has created a big impact
towards the industry of broadcast and towards society’s culture. Forms of Commodification in
this journal consist of plot inconsistency, and commercialization of actors from the soap opera
Emak Ijah Pengen ke Mekah who’s goal is non-other than to reach the show’s targeted rating.
